CODE OF CONDUCT





Practise Makes Practice is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive experience for everyone. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form.


Examples of harassing behavior include, but are not limited to:


  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory language
  • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability
  • Unwelcome physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, including sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcome sexual advances
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following (online or in person)
  • Sustained disruption of community events, including talks
  • Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior

If you are subject to or observe unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a staff member or email carinaraye@practise-practice.org with a detailed account.


Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be removed from Practise Makes Practice.

PRIVACY POLICY



Practise Makes Practice, Inc. (“Practise,” “We,” ”Us,” or “Our”) is strongly committed to protecting your privacy and helping you understand how We collect, use and safeguard the personal information collected through Our website (the “Website”) and through software applications We offer (the Website and these software applications are collectively referred to herein as the “Practise Platform”). This page (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the policies We have implemented with regards to collecting and using information about you.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected (i) by Practise offline or through any other means other than the Practise Platform or (ii) by any third party, including through any application or content, such as advertising that may link to, be displayed on or otherwise be accessible from the Shed Platform.
  1. Changes to this Privacy Policy**. The Practise Platform and content, and Our privacy practices, may change over time and, accordingly, We reserve the right, in Our sole discretion, to change, add or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. If We change this Privacy Policy, We will post the revised document here and such revised Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon that posting. If such revised Privacy Policy includes material changes, We will notify you of such material changes by posting an alert on the Practise Platform with a link to the revised Privacy Policy.
  2. Information We Collect. From time to time, you may provide us with your personally identifiable information when using the Practise Platform (“Personal Information”). Personal Information may include, but not be limited to, your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, location, IP address and credit card or other payment account information. When you provide us with your Personal Information, you are giving your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you would prefer that We not collect any Personal Information from you, please do not provide us with any such information.
  3. How We Use and Share Information. We use the information you provide, including Personal Information, to deliver you the content, services or materials you have specifically requested. This might include providing you with newsletters, e-mail updates, or responding to your inquiries. We may also use your Personal Information to send you e-mails or other communications concerning Practise Makes Practice and Our initiatives. Additionally, We may use your Personal Information in connection with Our internal business purposes or for any other purpose We deem necessary or desirable to enhance your experience on the Practise Platform. We may disclose any information, including Personal Information, We deem necessary, in Our sole discretion, to governmental authorities or private parties in order to comply with any applicable law, regulation, court order, legal process, investigation or governmental, judiciary or regulatory request. We may also disclose such information where We believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, or violations of Our policies, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing the Practise Platform and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements.
  4. Cookies. Cookies and pixels are small files of information that are stored on your computer’s hard drive by your web browser. We may use cookies or pixels on the Practise Platform to track visitor behavior and provide a customized experience. We may contract with third parties who use cookies and other online tracking technologies to collect information on Our behalf, and the third parties may use the information collected to send retargeted advertisements to visitors of the Practise Platform. These parties are required to maintain the confidentiality of this information. If you would like to opt out of this use of your information, you can change the preferences of your browser so that it does not accept cookies.   5. Security. We may implement various security measures to help protect your Personal Information and reduce the risk of loss, misuse or alteration of the Personal Information under Our control. Unfortunately, however, no data security measure can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while We strive to protect your personal information, We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information, including Personal Information, you transmit to or from the Practise Platform, and you do so at your own risk.
  6. Retention. We will retain your Personal Information and other data submitted by you unless and until you ask to be removed from Our database. When you request to be removed from Our database, you will no longer receive e-mails from Us, but your Personal Information and any other data submitted by you will remain in Our database and you may still receive other of Our mailings at your physical address. If you would like to be removed from Our database and physical address mailing list, please see Section 7 below. Please note that when information is removed from Our databases it may continue to exist in backup archives maintained by Us.
  7. Updating Your Information and Opting Out. If you no longer wish to subscribe to Our online mailings or would like to change your e-mail preferences, you may do so at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any e-mail you receive from Us. You may also remove your name from Our database and e-mail and physical address mailing lists, or remove your Personal Information from the list provided to Our partners and other third party organizations, by contacting us at cm@practise-practice.org with the subject line “Personal Information.” Please be advised that sometimes these requests may take time to process. Unsubscribing from Our online mailings may take 2-4 weeks to be effective.
  8. Links to Other Sites. You may find content on the Practise Platform that links to the websites of Our partners, sponsors or other third parties. Please be aware that We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other parties or their websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information that We collect through the Practise Platform. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of other websites you link to from the Practise Platform or otherwise visit. TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRACTISE MAKES PRACTICE HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY TYPE OF DAMAGES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, OR LOSSES OR EXPENSES, FOR THE ACTIONS AND INFORMATION PRACTICES OF ANY NON-PRACTISE SITE TO WHICH THE PRACTISE PLATFORM LINKS OR REFERS.
  9. Business Transfers. As We continue to develop and grow, We may sell or liquidate certain of Our assets or combine Our operations with those of another entity. In such transactions, user information, including Personal Information, generally is one of the transferred business assets. By submitting your Personal Information through the Practise Platform, you agree that We may transfer your information to such entities in these circumstances.
